What is TOEFL?
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is an international exam for English as a foreign language. TOEFL is developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) at Princeton University, New Jersey, USA.
TOEFL ITP (Institutional Testing Program) is an international English language test designed for candidates over the age of 14, master's and doctoral students, secondary school teachers, university professors, and professionals from various fields. This test assesses the English proficiency of non-native speakers based on academic and social contexts.
- All tests are conducted in a digital format.
- Preliminary test results are available immediately after the test.
- The official exam result, a certificate (starting from level B1), is issued within 10–15 days after the test.
- The TOEFL certificate is valid for two years.
Where is the TOEFL ITP certificate accepted?
More than 2,500 educational institutions in over 50 countries use TOEFL ITP tests, including:
- Colleges and universities
- Secondary schools
- English language schools and programs
- Government institutions
How is the test used?
TOEFL ITP tests are used for the following purposes:
- Admission to intensive English language programs at colleges or universities at different levels.
- As a final exam for English language programs, especially those focused on academic English.
- Admission to short-term training programs and internships in English-speaking countries at institutions that use these tests.
- Admission to university programs, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.
- Participation in international exchange and cooperation programs where English is used.
- Admission to scholarship programs as proof of academic English proficiency.
Test Structure
The test consists of three sections:
- Listening Comprehension assesses the ability to understand spoken English used in colleges and universities.
- Structure and Written Expression evaluates the understanding of selected structural and grammatical elements in standard written English.
- Reading Comprehension measures the ability to read and understand academic material.
