At the present stage of Kazakhstan development, when its position in the world market is strengthening there is an acute need in analysts who are fluent in decision-making and in highly qualified specialists who know mathematical methods and information technologies.
Based on the tasks of current Kazakhstan development and specificity of mathematics field the mission of the “Applied mathematics and physics” department is in training competitive, innovative-minded and patriotic Bachelors who can carry out complex calculations, analyze, prepare solutions and develop knowledge-intensive software in all areas of production, economics, management, in science, engineering, education, Bachelors adaptable to rapidly changing economic conditions.
The department activity is characterized by a steady growth of scientific and pedagogical potential, available laboratories and work-study areas, fitted with modern equipment. Significant part of study books and courseware in the specialty has been developed by the department teachers.
Goals and objectives:
- Provide sound training of students for them to successfully solve scientific, pedagogical and engineering tasks in various areas of physics and mathematics
- Train students for a successful career in scientific, research-production companies and education institutions, which solve physics problems, by growing in them professional and ethical responsibility, aptitude to study independently and improve their skills throughout life.
- Ensure the department graduates competitiveness in education market of the Republic of Kazakhstan and in global education environment; graduates who meet current national and international standards of science and education.
- Provide further growth in the department teaching staff research activities to integrate education, science and production.
