Language: An Amazing Gift of Humanity
Following the annual tradition, Associate Professors M.E. Minaydarova and A.A. Aladyina, along with Senior Lecturer Z.B. Mykhankova and Instructor G.S. Sharina, organized a celebration at the monument to the great Russian poet A.S. Pushkin—the Day of the Languages of the People of Kazakhstan. Language is the living soul of a nation, its joy, pain, memory, and treasure. There is no language that does not deserve respect. This is the strength of Kazakhstan. The unity of languages and cultures among the multinational people is a solid foundation of friendship on which the future of the country is built.
The hosts of the celebration, third-year students of the Teacher Training Program in Russian Language and Literature, Dana Zhalpanova and Ekaterina Kopylova, spoke about how the language of each nation is a code of its centuries-old history and culture. Therefore, its preservation and development remain essential for shaping national identity and dignity. The high aim of the Day of the Languages of the People of Kazakhstan is to foster love and respect for one’s native language and other languages.
During the celebration, poems in various languages were recited by students of M.Kh. Dulati University: Zakhira Balkozhaeva’s "Otanıñ süy" by Zhambyl Zhabayev, Firuz Minas’s "Tatiana’s Letter to Onegin" by Alexander Pushkin, Ayualym Abdurasy’s "Shıda, shıda" by Mukagali Makataev, Albina Yernazar’s "Senbe jurtqa" by Abai Kunanbaev, Bibinur Azimbek’s "Tım asıǵıp kelemіn" by Kalizhan Bekhozhin, Bakhar Mamedova’s "Biz İki Devlet Bir Milletiz" (Azerbaijan) by Gynel Zeynalova, and Aruzhan Bekbergen’s "Gashypyn!" by Mukagali Makataev, among others.
The event left a deep emotional imprint on the hearts of those present, and we believe that friendship and understanding will become paramount in the communication among people of different nationalities. The atmosphere was filled with the spirit of celebration and extraordinary unifying power.
