DEPARTMENT OF RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE

Associate professors of the Department of Russian Language and Literature, M.Y.Minaydarova and A.A. Aladina; Senior Lecturer Zh.B. Mykhanova; Lecturer G.S.Sharinova; and first- and second-year students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Dulati University took part in an open microphone event titled "Where Does the Homeland Begin?" held at the Zhambyl Regional Russian Drama Theater. According to academician D.S. Likhachev, love for one’s homeland begins with love for family, close friends, and the home where childhood was spent. This love for the surroundings and the people who protect us forms the foundation of a broader love for one’s homeland.

Representing the public association for disabled veterans from the Republican Union of Veterans of Special Risk, Seitkhan Muratovich Kuantayev, and Associate Professor Maria Yestaevna Minaydarova, spoke to the audience. They discussed the significance of the holiday, emphasizing the need to love our homeland and work for the prosperity of Kazakhstan.

The audience watched the theatrical performance with great attention as actors performed patriotic songs and read quotes about the homeland from famous writers and cultural figures. A friendly and warm discussion on the concept of homeland followed, where attendees enthusiastically responded to quiz questions and shared their views on the topic. Everyone sought to express what Kazakhstan means to them – from cherished places and traditions to spiritual values passed down through generations. The discussion was full of emotion and sincerity, underscoring the importance of the topic to all.

First-year student Albina Yernazar recited the poem "Otan" by Mukagali Makataev, while student Symbat Zhetpysbay read Almas Temirbay’s poem "Uaqyt Qadiri." The event concluded with the songs "Atameken" and "Armandastar," performed by students from M.Kh. Dulati University, offering them a valuable lesson in patriotism.
