August 26, 2020 acting Chairman of the Board-Rector, Professor Sarybekov M.N. signed the first agreement of the Taraz Regional University named after M.Kh. Dulati with PETRONAS University of Technology, Malaysia (UniversitiTeknologi PETRONAS (UTP).
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) was founded on January 10, 1997 and is a leading private university in Malaysia and is a 100% subsidiary of PETRONAS, Malaysia's national oil and gas company.
UTP offers a wide range of engineering, science and technology programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. UTP has trained over 15,000 graduates and currently has over 8,000 students from over 60 countries around the world. Fourteen programs allow students to obtain a specialty in the following areas: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Geoscience Business Management, Information System, Information Technology, Computer Science, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physic.
In just 23 years of its existence, UTP has consistently achieved numerous national and international recognition. It is currently ranked 439 in the QS World University Rankings and 601-800 in the THE World University Rankings.
The main areas of interaction with the new partner university will be: the development of joint research projects and publications, joint scientific events and exchange / academic mobility of teachers and students. To organize academic mobility within the framework of the Memorandum, an Agreement on Academic Exchange was signed. In accordance with the Agreement, annually two students from each university will be able to study at a partner university for free and they will be provided with preferential conditions for living.
The UTP logo is designed in golden-blue tones, symbolizing light, peace, tranquility, and imitates the blossoming of a flower bud, adding the graphic outline of the PETRONAS Twin Towers. In general, the logo calls for starting a joint path to new standards in higher education.
We hope that cooperation with the new university will bring certain results and will be mutually beneficial.
